ISSN 0001-5555 The triad exophthalmus, pre-tibial myxoedema, osteoarthropathia (EMO syndrome) was first described by Thomas in 1933 and represents a rare condition occurring in patients with Graves’ disease (1). Graves’ disease is a common autoimmune disorder of the thyroid gland due to a production of autoantibodies mainly directed against the thyrotropin (TSH) receptor. In less than 1% of affected patients, the triad of endocrine ophthalmopathy, myxoedema and osteoarthropathy successively occurs in the course of the disease (2–4). We describe here a case of EMO syndrome with agminated blue naevi at both temples suggestive for a Carney complex. Individuals affected by a Carney complex typically present with cardiac and cutaneous myxomas, endocrinopathy, lentiginosis and endocrine and non-endocrine neoplasia (5).

Agminated Blue Nevus: Two Case Reports and a Mini-review of the Literature.

Agminated blue nevus (ABN) is a melanocytic nevus rarely mentioned in the literature and not well known. The term agminated is used when many blue nevi are clustered together in a sharply demarcated area ≤10 cm. Specific dermatoscopic features have not currently been clearly defined. We describe two cases of ABN and provide a review of the literature, reporting the main points in order to facil...

Agminated blue nevus - Case report*

Blue nevi are benign melanocytic lesions located in the deeper reticular dermis, consequence of failure of melanocytic migration into the dermal-epidermal junction from the neural crest. Lesions are usually asymptomatic and solitary, but may present in a multiple or agminated (grouped) pattern. The agminated subtype is formed when bluish-pigmented lesions cluster together in a well-defined area...

Congenital agminated melanocytic nevus - case report*

Agminated nevus is a cluster group of melanocytic nevi confined to a localized area of the body. There are many pigmented lesions described in the literature as agminated, such as blue nevi, multiple lentigines and Spitz nevi, but only a few cases of congenital agminated melanocytic nevi have been described. We report a case of a male child who presented with congenital agminated nevi, emphasiz...

Multiple agminated lesions with homogeneous blue pattern on dermoscopy

The case presents a Caucasian female, who had been consulting dermatology for nine years for asymptomatic lesions on the central thorax, present from the first days of life. On physical examination, multiple brown and skin-colored papules were observed 2-3 mm in size (Figure 1). With dermoscopy (polarized light), the lesions showed an agminated homogeneous blue pattern (Figure 2) and a pore, th...

Agminated atypical (dysplastic) nevi: case report and review of the literature.

BACKGROUND Patients with the atypical mole syndrome have multiple dysplastic nevi that appear to be randomly distributed on certain preferred anatomical sites such as the upper back. These dysplastic nevi are thought to be acquired melanocytic nevi that begin appearing at puberty. To our knowledge, the presence of agminated atypical (dysplastic) nevi has not been reported. OBSERVATION We desc...
